Fried Yee Meen with prawns, chinese mushrooms, and vegetables
The blog of someone with a revived passion for cooking (and eating) and an even stronger passion for showing it off in these photos of the dishes I've whipped up. And nope, no recipes available...yet. How far this blog will go and what it will evolve to be, is up to those who visit. For now, I will be food-camwhoring my culinary experiments in this food photo blog. So feel free to give me some ideas. Meantime, enjoy salivating over the photos and spread the word. Happy drooling!

Yang Chow Fried Rice
Yang Chow Fried Rice. I used the Moghul Faiza long grain Basmathi rice. Long grained rice are non sticky, so the end result is a fluffy and light textured fried rice :)

Perut Ikan - Nyonya Pickled Fish Stomach, Herbs and Vegetables Curry
Oh man, this is a real tedious Nyonya dish to cook. The preparation i.e. washing and cutting the vegetables (brinjals, pineapples and long beans) and to chiffonade the herbs (daun kaduk, vietnamese mint, turmeric leaves, basil and kaffir lime leaves) really takes a long time.
But the end result is really worth it. My favourite Nyonya food.

Mee Rebus
A direct translation of Mee Rebus is Blanched Noodles. It sounds bland but the actual dish is far from it. Blanched Yellow Noodles are served with prawn fritters, hard boiled eggs, potatoes, curried cuttlefish, deep fried bean curd, bean sprouts, lettuce and topped with a thick sweet potato gravy. A local favourite.

How do you like your Roti Jala?
The normal way is to dip the roti jala into the chicken gravy .....
the other is to use the roti jala as a crepe and wrap some dry chicken curry in it like a spring roll
