Bolognese Sausage in Almond Crusted Puff Pastry Roll

Spread thick bolognese meat sauce and parmesan cheese on a sheet pf puff pastry and roll it up like a swiss roll. I sprinkled some crushed almonds for that extra oomph :) Bake in a fan forced oven for 15 minutes or conventional over for 20 minutes. Let cool before slicing with a bread knife.

Chicken In A Net

Which is actually baked chicken breast under a piece of grilled bacon with mushroom stuffing :)
Quickly sear marinated chicken breasts over high heat to seal the juices
Score a piece of bacon like a net
Place the scored bacon over the chicken breast which has been lightly patted with mushroom pate (I forgot to take a photo of the mushroom pate :P) and bake in oven for 20 minutes. After that, grill / broil for a further 5 minutes until bacon is crispy

Yang Chow Fried Rice

Yang Chow Fried Rice. I used the Moghul Faiza long grain Basmathi rice. Long grained rice are non sticky, so the end result is a fluffy and light textured fried rice :)

Perut Ikan - Nyonya Pickled Fish Stomach, Herbs and Vegetables Curry

Oh man, this is a real tedious Nyonya dish to cook. The preparation i.e. washing and cutting the vegetables (brinjals, pineapples and long beans) and to chiffonade the herbs (daun kaduk, vietnamese mint, turmeric leaves, basil and kaffir lime leaves) really takes a long time.
But the end result is really worth it. My favourite Nyonya food.

No crab shells at hand? Fret not, make crab croquettes instead

They make great hor d'oeuvres

Chicken Wellington with Cheesy Spinach Sauce

Dish inspired by Beef Wellington. I used chicken breast instead and teamed it with a cheesy spinach stuffing. Wrapped in Puff Pastry and garnished with almond slivers before baking

Creamy Spicy Tuna Pasta

An easy peasy dish of tuna mayo tossed with vermicelli, pesto and Vietnamese red chillies

Mee Rebus

A direct translation of Mee Rebus is Blanched Noodles. It sounds bland but the actual dish is far from it. Blanched Yellow Noodles are served with prawn fritters, hard boiled eggs, potatoes, curried cuttlefish, deep fried bean curd, bean sprouts, lettuce and topped with a thick sweet potato gravy. A local favourite.
